I still think the US gets an Acura Integra Coupe, Type S. The current Integra Type S (ITS) is essentially an upscale CTR with an improved interior and slightly better road manners (dampers are a notch or two softer). The current ITS is often reviewed as the finest car in its class (manual transmission, front wheel drive), over the CTR. The ITS also has a horsepower and torque bump over the CTR. Personally, I think the ITS styling is much better than the racer-boy looks of the CTR (although admittedly the FL5 looks much better than the earlier FK8).

The ITS is built in Ohio using all the CTR components. Given that our Prelude contains lots of CTR bits, those parts are already in, or made in, Ohio.

Right now Acura is scaling back. TLX (4 door sedan, with its own Type S version, but DCT transmission) is done for. The RDX (SUV) is gone; but coming back in the future, probably as a hybrid using a new, unreleased, higher-power Honda hybrid. So, is there an open slot to bring back the beloved Integra Coupe? The Integra (all versions) is second highest in Acura sales. Maybe there is a spot?

Applying the Acura design language to the Prelude would be phenomenal (especially given the I'm not a big fan of our wonderful Prelude's front end). Just put a big Acura badge right there, on the nose!

I'd say it's unlikely that'll happen, but at that point it really will be a 2 door civic and won't at all be built on the Prelude. I don't see why they'd use a dead end platform offshoot that can't support the drivetrain they'd want as a basis for a new release when they can just massage a 2027+ civic into it.

Ah found an article about it, reads more like an engineering partnership to develop a new series of Hondas for developing markets to me?
