What's your biggest gripe with the prelude?

Having put a dog cage on the back seat, the seats not returning from whence they came is driving me nuts every time I have to load the dog in.
Have you also found the lane assist 'sticky'? Like it alerts I've drifted too far left, yet resists me turning the wheel right to correct?

yes ...but at least they have a "alert" to pick "things" from the rear set when leaving
Yes, it's a two door, but isn't Honda proud of having clever seat solutions ? Grrrr.....

...let me switch left/right in mind ..but yes, it feels that, when the lane assists "alerts", it is keeping the actual distance at the same time, have to add some "force" to correct and clear the alert ... but its tricky to reproduce these effects in real life traffic

after 2 months with my Prelude, here are my top ten of gripes....
(some of them seem only apply to european version)
- speed limit beeper at the first kilometer overspeed, threshold level menu not available in EU. I don't mind the flashing symbol, it's the beep...and it's no consolation that other manufacturers are worse ....
- missing "Walk Away Auto Lock"
- door handles do not fold out when approching the UNLOCKED car
- passenger mirror does not lower when parking reverse
- seat does not move to forward position when accessing back seat
- neither seat nor even seatback do return to its original position (my 3door civic had that feature 20 years ago...)
- traffic sign recognicion has room for improvement (e.g. some speed limits have a time frame (10pm to 6am)- the system recognizes the aditional sign, but not the content)
- lane assistant often intrusive (on wide lanes, it tries to keep you in the middle, even if there is plenty of distance to the borders, also annoying especially on towns, where one side of the street is used for parking and therefore lanes are aymetrical and not according to marking...
- the car does not memorize the last used drive mode (why allow an "individual mode" when not using it until changed?)
- there is an "App Installer" but no information about which Apps may be installed here (the dealer says"its may be for the future ..")
- lockking sensor on door handle picky - why not just implement a simple "close handle to lock"

to make it clear - i love the car, it was clear that i'll get the Prelude from the first info that its beeing revived....
and maybe i'm a bit picky switching from a Infiniti Q60, but Honda ...come on, you CAN do it better ...

The doors opening after popping out are hit and miss, and the closing, a lot of times I touch the top marks and nothing happens, a bit disappointing really, I just close it with the key fob now most of the time, as far as the seats I find if I'm putting stuff on the back seat I just move the seat forward as far as it will go without moving the back bit, and that's usually enough to get things in without disturbing the back angle.

The doors opening after popping out are hit and miss, and the closing, a lot of times I touch the top marks and nothing happens, a bit disappointing really, I just close it with the key fob now most of the time, as far as the seats I find if I'm putting stuff on the back seat I just move the seat forward as far as it will go without moving the back bit, and that's usually enough to get things in without disturbing the back angle.

I'm unfortunately not very flexible so wrangling an uncooperative chihuahua into the back requires a full seat reset every time.

I’m a little confused. I get my dog on the front seat (she can jump up) and she steps on the center console and then into the back. No seat adjustment required. A chihuahua is too small even when starting from a front seat?

It's an enclosed box/cage, I have to lean into the back, open it, and place him inside it. ISOFIXed into the rear seats keeping the little guy secure and stops him making a mess.

But even when I put my hand under it and pull to open it doesn't even when I wait, it's around 50/50 whether it opens or not, and closing is the same, as I said I now find it easier to just use the key fob most of the time.

That does not sound right. If I give mine half a sec after touching the handle, it does unlock 99% of times. Maybe you should ask your dealer to check on it?

I usually move my hand below the handle without any haste. Works 99% of the time. Before I was not aware that the car had not yet unlocked when popping the handles out, I moved my hand closely above/at same level with the handle. That, as I would estimate, did work for like 60% of the time.

Try placing your fingertip in the hollow part underneath the handle. Works for me every time.

i think there are two major ways to pull the handle....from the side with one finger, or from below with one or more fingers.
Maybe, if pulling from below, with one finger, you do not have enough contact to the sensor and unlocking is not always initiated ?

I use the first one as it it feels more comfortable to me....works 99%....but you have to keep in mind that it takes about half a seconf from recognizing fingers intil the "clack" sound which indicates the unlocking....
When unlocking with key fob, there is (of course) no waiting ....

Due to its design, it bothers me a bit that I can't simply push it back and forth—in the CTR, you just have to shift into neutral—but maneuvering a hybrid like that is, unfortunately, a real hassle and overly complicated. You can't even back up a little with the door open when you want to look behind you for better visibility.

...yep...agree...also prefer the "old fashioned" stick for shifting ...you can use it blind... no need for changing positions of fingers and "searching" for the correct button.... still missing the "D" and pushing the "N" ......the buttons look sleek, but unfortunately my evolution is too slow to adapt to the button-only design
