I had been out in my GR Yaris and got home and put that in the garage. The prelude was parked on the driveway and was double locked - press lock button twice when I left it there.
I had both sets of keys in my pocket. Went to prelude and it opened without touching key. Got in and started then reversed into garage. I have to get prelude out to get GRY out!
Switched off as normal but door latch pulled out but wouldn't open my door while still sat there at the wheel with key in pocket - with GRY keys also.
Started the car agian and still couldn't open the door. Heart rate probably doubled by now. Switched off again and wouldn't open.
I had to start the engine and drop the window and fortunately the door handle opened the door when I put my arm out and used that. If that hadn't opend I was stuffed.
I know that manufacturers say never double lock a car with someone in such as children but I didn't think I did it. I don't think I touched the buttons on the handle. Just did what I have done for 2 month now.
I wonder if having two sets of keys in the pocket accidentally double pressed the prelude key.
It was worrying though. After 47 years driving am fairly confident about opening a car door.
What do you think could have happened?

I think you activated the deadlocking system! And you stayed inside the car while doing so.

Thank goodness not on the US models....is there that much crime and car jacking overseas that the superlocking is necessary? Is it government regulation?

Not by law but only yesterday on national news they were reporting car theft has increased dramatically. Number plate cloning is also bad with a reported 1 in 15 cars on the road with cloned plates.
I double lock mine out of habit when its outside my garage.
My GR Yaris as well as all past Toyotas let me turn off keyless which I did on first day of ownership to stop the relay attack thefts.
It always surprises me how many people pay a fortune for a new car and don't pay the £200 for a DiskLock if they park them on their driveways.
The police and security experts did a test on the new Platinum DiskLock and the special drill just burnt but wouldn't touch the lock. Angle grinder broke the disks in seconds.
Most people don't bother with extra security but I do.
Only problem is Honda don't let you turn off keyless and I think all cars should be able to.

Tried it again with window down just in case and I think you are correct. Two sets of keys in same pocket probably did activate it.
What are the odds of the correct key press being made in your pocket as you sit down into the car?
You live and learn.
