Nah it's sharp because of badly cut edges, not deliberately. I think it's perhaps entirely decorative for the box?

Turns out the rear plate isn't on straight. Drooping on one side. Any bright ideas to fix it before I have to drill more holes in the poor thing?
...asked my dealer about this "thing" ...he had no real good explanation ...it's just existing, most likely to fill the box
...and hey, the box closes magnetically !

The dead pedal was easy enough to fit, though bit cheap feeling and the fitment maybe isn't perfect, but good enough. Had a quick attempt at the vent grills and realised I don't have the right tools at the moment to get the damn clips out right now so will have to tackle that another day. Fortunately it does come with new clips for when the existing ones inevitably do crumble to dust.
