There are so many naysayer reviewers out their on the Prelude, I will say this guy gets it!!!
I've got a Boost Blue and love it! And this is coming from a C6 Corvette! Yeah, the Prelude is gonna lose big time at the track and 0-60 to about everybody, but what you've pointed out and folks don't understand is the car was not made for that group of people...it's made for everyday drivers, commuters, vacationers who do road trips...it's perfect for all of the above, PLUS it's a smile from ear to ear experience driving any kind of curvy roads!!! Honda got this right....it's like the 'car enthusiasts' just don't understand how much fun you can have EVERYDAY driving this car!

Yup.
What most petrol heads don’t understand is that most people, including most buyers of new cars, are not petrol heads.

...and the salesman knows and takes advantage of that 🤑

This is by far the best YT review I've yet watched. I second every single sentence spoken in this video! 👊🏻

I was just watching this before I saw your post. I'm not sure how he can compare the MX5 to the Prelude; they are completely different cars. The Prelude is far more practical for most people and looks better, in my opinion. And tariffs explain a lot of the price difference in the States between the Civic and the Prelude Advance, hence why here in the UK there is not that much difference in price between the two.

You"re right, that is the only part in which I so not share the guys opinion, either. But his summary of what - and for whom - the Prelude is, is pretty much spot on, isn't it?

It has really surprised me the negative press the Prelude has generated. I sometimes wonder to myself if they are talking about the car I drive? Because it bears no relation to my experience of it.

Same here. I'd guess many people were too preoccupied with "good old memories" from 30 or more years back - when the Prelude was in fact neither as fast nor as comfy nor as fuel efficient as the new one. 🤷‍♂️

A great, and honest review of what the expectations of our Prelude! I especially like the part where he completely drains the battery, to show what the performance (or lack of) if taken to the track. AND the part that he preferred the Prelude to his 12 year old Porsche on the local winding, bumpy country roads!
