I was reading reviews of the Prelude. A recent Road & Track comparison between the Prelude and VW GTI mentioned the Prelude having power delivery issues when pushed hard or with heat. The drivetrain pulled significant power. Honda confirmed it could be a problem if certain criteria were met while driving. Any Prelude owners experience this?

Those 200 horses became what felt like 150, and then even less. It’s the same sensation I’ve felt when pushing an electric car so hard it derates and limits acceleration to protect the driveline from extreme heat. After a few minutes of chill driving, the Honda went back to its normal, quicker self. But this wasn’t a one-off; it happened several times, even pulling power on less throttle-heavy roads through Malibu Canyon later on. "
"Honda says the Prelude will indeed limit power when the battery’s state of charge is below a certain threshold or the pack temperature exceeds normal levels. Air temperatures were only 70–80 degrees ambient on the day, but our hard charging was clearly upsetting it. When the car went back to Honda, their people said they couldn’t replicate the problem and called the incident an anomaly, but it still marred our time with the car."
