The depth of engineering in a car is often reflected in 101 daft little details – small things that collectively indicate how much thought has gone into its design.

A few examples that I like on the Prelude...
  • The aircraft-style small red ‘bug’ on the outer edge of the speedometer that shows you the current speed limit
  • Similarly, the green ‘bug’ that’s shows your cruise control set speed
  • The perfectly-damped opening/closing of the sunglasses holder in the overhead console
  • All Honda’s have a tiny arrowhead on the fuel gauge to discreetly remind you which side the fuel filler is on

What silly little details have made you smile? :)

I currently own 5 vehicles and I've probably owned >60 over my lifetime. It's easy to forget which side the damn gas cap is on and some cars don't have the indicator. It annoys me so much! Definitely a good call on that one.

I love how the traffic in both your lane and in the adjacent lane shows up when you have the adaptive cruise control on, and that it shows trucks versus cars. (See photos if you haven’t used this feature yet.) I don’t even know exactly why I like it so much, but I do.

I was sitting at an excessively long light a couple of weeks ago and noticed that when you have your turn signal on, the small turn signal indicator on the little white Prelude on the dash blinks at exactly the same rate as the large green arrow. THAT is true attention to detail… and if they blinked at different rates, it would probably drive me insane once I noticed it!

I have been driving Hondas for so many decades that I just *expect* that a car will have that arrow that shows which side the gas goes in (but it is on the same side on all Hondas, and the only other car I ever drive is my mom’s CRV, so I never pay any attention to it).
