Hello,
My name is Marc, and I ordered a Prelude in Belgium on February 26th, Racing Blue Pearl paint, black leather trim, Illumination Pack.

This will be my first Honda, and it's a bit of a return to my roots, since my first two cars in the 70's were coupés: a turquoise blue Datsun 120Y, and then a white Ford Capri MKII.

Thank You! When I ordered it at the end of February, it was supposed to be delivered in July, now the dealership told me the end of August.

Hi Marc - welcome to the forum. My partner in 1990 had a white Datsun 120Y (1975?) a bit like this one...

I remember it had very distinctive wheel trims!

Thank You Alfettaman. Yes, that's the one. Mine, which previously belonged to my father, was from 1974, and he gave it to me in 1978, just after I got my driver's license. A basic and cheap to run car, but very uncomfortable for the back on long journeys (rear leaf spring suspension).

Thank You! When I ordered it at the end of February, it was supposed to be delivered in July, now the dealership told me the end of August.

Funny that my dealer said exactly the same. Mine is now the end of August as well. I think they know there is a waiting time but don't want to lose the sale. I'm sure it will be worth the wait.

I very nearly went for grey as it looked really nice and I thought it wouldn't stand out as much but realised I would regret not getting that lovely blue. And there are only going to be up to 400 in the UK so will still be rare.

That long delivery time is unusual; I placed my order on February 5th, and it arrived at the dealership at the end of April. Your color was also produced in large numbers early on—and the cars for Belgium/Ghent actually arrive from Japan—anyway, is there any news?

No, nothing new – delivery is still scheduled for the end of August.
In any case, I’ll check in with my dealership next week.
When I signed the order form, delivery was due in July, but it’s been pushed back to August.
I’m clearly not the only one in this situation: there’s another Belgian member of this forum, Neomic, who says he ordered a blue Prelude in March, which is due for delivery in September. So six months, just like me.

Yes, sometimes the difference is simply down to the interior—whether it’s black or blue/white. That can certainly make a difference. It likely isn't the lighting package; that is usually installed in Ghent, though sometimes it’s done at the dealership. Unfortunately, that involves taking a lot of the cockpit or interior apart. That’s something I’d never be too keen on with a brand-new car.

Thank you for giving me hope – it’s still possible, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed. However, I think my car was loaded onto the next ship, the one that left Japan towards the end of June and will arrive in Europe in about a week’s time, which means it should be delivered by the end of August, or early September at the latest.

Same as me. My phone call last Tuesday and get my Blue with blue and white seats on Tuesday morning - counting the hours now so just been emptying my Yaris Cross ready to part ex. His system still said late August when he was watching it get unloaded at the garage last Tuesday. I taught computing for 25 years but they can be a pain in the "you know where" part of the body at times.
