FIRST LOOK: The Prelude is making a HUGE return and Honda is bringing a ton of special touches. On the outside you will discover Boost Blue. On the inside you will find a Prelude only interior. The 2026 Honda Prelude is the new Sports Car of the Year

I bought one in black (coincidentally, my 1999 Gen 5 was also black, and it is actually the SAME crystal black pearl color) and love it, but the Prelude has never been a high volume or critically acclaimed car — partly because it has always been significantly more expensive than a Civic and Accord — and to even call it a “sports car” is a stretch. Yes, it is as much fun to drive as the Preludes have always been (minus the fun of a MT), but I cannot see it being Sports Car of the Year. I certainly won’t enjoy mine any less, though, without the acclaim!

p.s. the script/cursive “Prelude” on the back is almost impossible to see on the black car (and difficult to see on the gray one). It is just a small thing, but I spent a LOT of money on this car and want people to know what it is, especially people who had previous Gen Preludes!
