Getting my blue Prelude in 1st week August.
I am generally a Toyota fan and fully expected to get the new RAV4 but called in to be nosey at the prelude in the showroom. I fell in love with it there and then. Went home and went down the rabbit hole watching all of the youtube videos. Don't want to listen again at:
It still has a prop rod for the bonnet rather than struts.
Door is too thin and his elbow slides off.
It's too expensive - I agree but its built in Japan so americans pay 15% extra -----for some reason!
Don't take this the wrong way but I found the American reviewers obsessed with power and wishing it was something else. Being from Yorkshire in the North of England I found the European / Ausie reviewers much better.
They seemed to get this car straight away. A beautiful drivers car that you can use all of the adequate power most of the time.
This is my 4th coupe bought new - Ford Capri and two Celicas.
In my mid 60s I decided I had to get another while I can get in and out - plus, it is absolutely stuning.
I do have another car - a Toyota GR Yaris which gives me the turbo 4 wheel drive thrills.
My fun drives are in the fabulous Yorkshire dales and recently drove the far north Scotland NC500. May do that again in the Prelude.
The people who understand this car will admire it for what it is and not for what else it could have been.
Can't wait to get it and drive into the dales.
Will be watching how other owners are getting on and asking a few questions.
P.S. If you want to see this car driven on Swedich rally type roads watch "Seb on wheels" on YT. I watched this a few times and now ignore any reviews done on straight, wide and flat roads. Well worth watching and see him smile.
