Front Vents Guards

When I got mine 3 weeks ago the roads were being re-surfaced by me. I was continually brushing off the stones from the bodywork as the stones were coming up from the tire and through the vents.
I don't think they will come through at speed looking at the angle from the lower tire up to the vent so they may not hit the paint hard enough to scratch it.
But, I had some leftover door edging strip and some stainless steel gauze so I made two guards and glued them over the vent behind the front wheels. I used black silicon - the type used in kitchens and bathrooms so it would soften any impact from large stones.

Interesting idea, so this is to stop the tyres flicking bits up the door via the vent hole? Bit silly they didn't do something like this by default now you've pointed it out.

I thought of them but was not sure they included vent covers built into them inside the wheel arch.

Unfortunately they don't, but they're ideal for adaption with some mesh to give some protection.
I've got them installed on mine, but need to get the mesh to complete the little project.

Ah I see, perfect hole for adding some mesh to. Might have to look into this one once I've got the car.

Yup, and there's a decent space to accommodate it between the inside of the mudflap and the wheel arch liner.
