What is your opinion on the door handles on our cars? I'm a bit noncommittal; sure, they look sleek, but they are a bit temperamental, they don't always close when I touch the 3 marks on the top and the fact when you aproach the car and they do open when you pull it they don't open unless you first pull wait a second until you hear the mechanism then pull again, whether that's just mine I don't know, and now they are being banned in China due to safety concerns. I tried to post a direct link, but I can't seem to, but you can look for it on the BBC News website.

Should have been banned years ago, but do look sleek on the Prelude tbh. I think this is Honda's first time with them right?

I think I read BMW had to change their flush door handle design on the new 3 for the Chinese market because they view them as a safety issue when first responders show up at a crash. I had them on a 25 X3 I had a thought they where difficult to use.

A bit perplexing sometimes, but they do look good. :)

My Honda e (from 2020) has them too...

I think in China are going to ban the door handle with only electric power open system; the Prelude that I drove has a kind of “hybrid” handle. system

The NSX had them too, starting in 2017.
I feel like the sensor works well at the bottom end—but not at the top (swiping across the three bars never worked). They’re illuminated, which is pretty cool; though I’m glad I don’t drive it in winter—I wonder how that’s handled in severe frost?

It took me way too long to figure out the door handles, and until then they caused me a lot of frustration.
I would do the double pull, sometimes it stayed locked even after that... I didn't realize touching the top of the handle locks it, and touching the bottom unlocks, so depending on how I placed my hand, I'd sometimes be locking the car as I tried to open it.
Now when I walk up and it pops out I place my hand under the handle, wait a second until it unlocks, then pull it out, not ever touching the top, it works everytime now.

Love the door handles. They look great, are illuminated, add some wow factor (if you walk up the car in a parking lot and they pop out) & work excactly as they are supposed to: Appraoch - handles pop out (car is *NOT YET* unlocked). Touch handles - keyless unlock. Pull handle - door opens. 🤗

I was being a bit quick with the pull. Now I know how to do it properly; it's a lot better. The closing is still not 100% when I touch the top lines, though; it works 80% of the time, so not a problem.
