This post is a joke, it's satire, just some friendly ragging on people who seem to absolutely despise the new Prelude for whatever "reason". Some people are mindblowingly disrespectful too, which is insane for somebody you've never even met on the internet. This isn't that. Anyway... I'll start us off:

The New Prelude haters are the ones you have to sit and wait behind at intersections because the light changed a while ago and they're even paying attention! 😄 😄

I don't get it either. If you don't like it, move on. It's like they took personal offense at the people buying one and Honda. Makes zero sense to me.

most of haters are wannabe... others are germ,an cars lovers... because they never had an honda...

Honda makes great, reliable cars.... Toyota has really fallen off lately with all the engine recalls. So Honda has a chance to pick up a bunch of market share.

They are super common here in the states... I still don't get the hate though.

None of the hate makes any sense. We haven't had a new vehicle with two doors and a lift-back in so long most people can't remember, so for that reason alone the car deserves some love. But there's plenty of other things to love too.

People know it's a hybrid but dis it for not having much power. Idiotic but ok.

Then there's the fact that Honda is WAY too smart to ambush itself. They won't even tease a sportier version of the car until it has had at least one, maybe two years to run in the current form, otherwise lots of people would hold out. Acura ran the new Integra for a year before the ITS so... just saying. There's a pattern here.

Plus like you said, @El Chorizo, if you don't like it, move on. Why do people feel the need to tell everybody how bad they think the car is? I think just because want attention and/or want people to know they can drive a manual. Congratulations, a lot of us have been doing that for decades and don't feel the need to prove it to anybody.

Maybe it's just internet tough guys trying to ruin everyone's day. Seems to be the norm now a days.

Yeah, I think that's a big part of it too. Like Mike Tyson said: Social media made y'all way too comfortable with disrespecting people and not getting punched in the face for it.

Exactly. The younger generation especially has no idea about respect :( Guess I'm just getting old.

I mean maybe, but you and me both, and at the same time it's ok to be an old soul. I think there are still a lot of young people who aren't disrespectful douchebags and it's just a matter of figuring out what places and sites to avoid.

I think that a lot of the haters are guys (sorry, but the haters are almost always men, not women) who bought their Preludes used and then they added a lot of aftermarket stuff, so they don't remember that the Prelude ALWAYS had a premium price tag compared to the Accords and Civics of the day (my 1999 Prelude with just OEM spoiler added was right at $25K, whereas the Civic that my brother bought two months before that was only $13K!). The Prelude was NEVER a fast 0 to 60 car! It was all about the upscale interior, the new tech, and the handling. The Gen 4 (which my mom had, and I frequently drove it when we would travel together), the Gen 5 (which I had for 12 years), and Gen 6 all have the same horsepower and if you take the $25K 1999 model Prelude and adjust it for inflation, it actually comes in higher than the MSRP of the current one, so their complaints that this one is way too expensive is ridiculous.

Couldn't agree more. Think you are spot on. I always loved the looks of the old Prelude though, and it did have one of the largest engines you could get in a Honda, though it wasn't big on power.

Prelude haters are Mr. Magoo's who think they are Emerson Fittipaldi.

I can see people not liking it, not everything is for everybody. But I can't understand all the complete hate. It's as if they think it makes their lives better to just completely trash it. It makes no sense to me. Even going so far as to hate the people that like it!

It all boils down to sour grapes.

Maybe this isn't just a Prelude specific issue - perhaps it's also a societal one, born out of a collision between populism and social media?

Populism thrives on dividing people into two warring camps and setting them against each other, removing nuanced discussion and encouraging extreme views. Social media allows everyone to be an 'armchair expert' and to have their views heard, regardless of whether they are well-informed or totally clueless....

To quote the great sage Mike Tyson:

I don’t know if people actually hate it. The three biggest complaints I read about are of the price, power or lack of it, and the synthesized shifting. Funny thing is Ferrari is doing the same thing with the shifting. I think I read about $5K-$6K of the price is tariffs or something? So would there be so much negative feelings or hate if the Prelude was $38K-$39K?
