I thought I'd treat myself for my soon to be 50th next year. I looked at mustangs, z cars, m beemers, amgs'. In the end the Honda won out. It was simply something unique and nostalgia tugging at me also helped. I got it at MSRP. My salesman is my neighbor, and I've bought a ridgeline from him too, so it was super easy to buy. They had 1 coming in he marked sold two weeks ago, and I picked it up last Saturday. Boost blue, black interior.

I absolutely love this car ! It's well built, drives great, looks great, is fast enough and the high mpgs are a nice bonus. I've been seeing a lot more postive reviews on it lately too. I don't think the naysares were around when these were last available new. They're dreaming of a hot rod that never existed. It was always a slightly sportier accord (now civic).

Hello @Kguy -- congratulations on your purchase and welcome to the site! Car looks gorgeous but it really does in every color!

Congrats and welcome to the forum! Do you plan to add any accessories or modifications?

I will as stuff comes out. But not much out there right now. I did order dark blue matts from Lloyds Matts. Also ordered blue carbon fiber interior trim and door sill protectors from here: https://designertrim.com/

Hope it all turns out good, will post pics when it comes in.

Agreed… it drives and looks great. On those rare occasions when I long for that missing third pedal, I remind myself that my 1999 Prelude (also black) only got 26 mpg on *premium* fuel and my new one gets 43+ on *regular* fuel.

For those complaining about the cost of the new Prelude need to keep in mind that the Preludes were ALWAYS significantly more expensive than the Civics and Accords of the time, and that the inflation adjusted price of my $25,500 1999 Prelude is nearly $55k! You are correct that many of them are remembering a car that never existed! My mom had a Gen 4 that I drove occasionally during the 10 years that she had it, and I had a Gen 5 for 12 years. THIS Prelude is every bit as much fun to drive as they were, and in the Tennessee mountains recently, it was actually MORE enjoyable becasue I could enjoy how it felt hugging the curves without having to worry about shifting. Enjoy your birthday present! (My mom bought her Gen 4 when she turned 50, too!)

I’m not a fan of the various colors of “gunmetal gray” on any car, but I actually think the gray Prelude still looks nice. (It remains MY last color choice (I was hoping for red but I got a black one — and am sure glad that I didn’t decide to wait for a red one to be available in my area! — but still…)
