Just drove home my Boost Blue Prelude over 200 miles from the dealership, and loved every mile of it!!!
I recently sold my 2007 Corvette after a long relationship with her...it was tough breaking up, but not as tough as it was getting in and out of it lately (yeah, old age and back problems).
Wife and I looked around at alternatives, and I can't believe it, but I got a hybrid (after cussing them for years lol)..
So goodbye Corvette...been good knowing ya, and will be missed, but am looking forward to all the smiles and road trips ahead when getting behind the wheel of our Prelude!
Yes car enthusiasts, the Corvette's 400hp, 0-60 in 4.2 seconds, 186mph top speed, ride on rails feeling is quite the departure from this Prelude.
Having said that, this Prelude so far checks all the boxes for me....
Easy to get in and out of...
Incredible handling on winding roads...
More comfortable on long drives...
Quieter inside...
Huge storage for cross country road trips!!
44mpg...
AND
QUITE A DEAL ON PRICE!!!
So the story is, no Boost Blues with white interiors in the Kansas City area, so found one in Omaha through online searches....it did have 370 miles on it, and through my research I found out it had been part of a dealerswap, and the current dealer had the car now for 60 days on it's showroom floor, and had it listed for $43,849, including doc fees. I figured they might be ready to deal...
Having watched enough YouTube videos on getting an Out the Door price before ever setting foot inside the showroom, and having done this with other car purchases over the years, I emailed the general and sales managers my intentions of buying the car if we liked it after a test drive, and if they would agree to an OTD inclusive cash price of $40,300, including all dealer fees, BUT NO ADDITIONAL ADD ONS, such as extended warranties, nitrogen, etc etc etc....
They came back at $40,499, and after a 3 hour drive to Omaha and a test drive, the deal was done. (yes, I still had to deal with the Finance Mgr, but I graciously declined all of his advances to his dismay) (yes, I'm buying an extended Honda Care warranty online for 1/4 the price he quoted me)
Next up is Xpel PPF for at least the front bumper, hood, fenders, mirrors and side ground effects, and then ceramic coating everything.
(NOTE TO ALL...if you drive your car home on a hot day and hit multiple bugs, after washing them off you will have to use some Griots Finishing Cream (or similar) to get the acid imprints off of the clear coat
)
So here she is! Looking forward to sharing and learning in this forum!
For those of you with Instagram, here's a short video of her!! (sound on!)
