Is the optional real spoiler a factory, port, or dealer installed option?

Thoughts on the rear spoiler? Do you like the optional rear spoiler? Personally I can go either way. My concern is if it is a factory, port or dealer installed option. I don’t know if I can trust a dealer to drill holes and rust/weatherproof properly.

I think, as in the UK, the average buyer is over 50, I can't see that many people opting for it. I also think the car looks cleaner without it, but I'm sure some people will prefer it.

It is dealer installed and like you I don’t want a dealer touching my car if I can avoid it.

As for the looks, I’m not a fan of the over hang off the left and right. Mugen makes a wing that comes in three pieces which I prefer. (https://www.mugen-power.com/english/news/detail/id=1692) Even then I prefer no wing.

Dealer installed, I have it. The rear looks saggy without it (too me). And I like the throw-back look to the 3rd gen SI w/spoiler. No issues, perfect install. Honda makes some pretty detailed instructions for their accessories, so studied up on it before pulling the trigger. I know some old geezers that love spoilers. I bet the average Prius buyer globally is going to be an older demographic.

I think the Prelude looks good without one but part of me also wished they incorporated a small low profile duck-tail like rear spoiler to give it a boost. Kind of like the thin low profile rear spoiler on some Boxster/Caymans.

I absolutely would not want a spoiler installed if it involved any type of drilling holes. Maybe someone like Mugen will offer a stick-on spoiler. Mazda made a nice rear spoiler for the Miata that was attached with just double-sided 3M tape. I never had a problem with it in 3 years of ownership and many car washes.

Sure? The interior lighting package (had i ordered it) would have been assembled at my dealers workshop, not in Ghent.

Dealer installed....I liked the spoiler on a white Prelude I saw at the KC Car Show, but I wanted Boost Blue....I saw pictures of the spoiler on that color and decided it wasn't for me.

Very secure; my dealer sent me photos after it came off the trailer and was initially parked—the spoiler was already installed by then.
Regarding the lighting package, it depends on exactly which one it is; the dealer often handles that part. However, components like the rear spoiler, flaps, and emblems are installed in Ghent. All software configurations—such as language settings for the infotainment system—are also carried out there. I don't know the situation regarding "transport mode," though.

Thanks for the info, didn't know that. Would the illuminated door sills and illuminated cup holder package come standard from the factory like this (as part of a certain trim package), I may have opted for it. But as a matter of fact it would have had to be installed by my dealer. So I decided against it - didn't want them to rip apart a brand new car just to add same cables.

I ordered the lighting package that you describe. I am pretty sure it was installed by the dealer - no problems, except that I have to wait a few months to do some driving in the dark!
