The Prelude and Nissan Z are different cars. What they have in common is both are 2-door hatchbacks, are fun to drive and are very easy on the eyes. I would say both look great and sporty. Both are also considered Grand Touring cars by many reviewers. They also have almost identical MSRPs.
Not taking discounts into consideration the Prelude cost nearly the same as a base Nissan Z Sport. The MSRPs are less than $900 apart. In reality the Z can probably be bought for less money than a Prelude because the Z is being discounted more. That might change now that Preludes are also being discounted.
What is interesting is the money saved in gas at the back end by the Prelude. The Z requires more expensive premium gas and gets considerably less mpg. The Z cost $200+ more per month in gas to run than the Prelude. Over a 5 year period of ownership the Prelude would save about $10K just in fuel cost.
