Had the car for two months and for the first 3 weeks it didn't rain so didn't notice this problem. I first thought I was driving through puddles and the water was coming up and hitting the wheel liner. I then noticed the passenger side wiper (UK) sticking a few inches up from it's seating position when in intermittent setting. It stops for about 1 second then releases and goes down. Mostly it does it about an inch up - still visible on the clear glass but occasionally it does it level with the top of the small speaker in that left corner of the window which is about 4-5 inches up. It then releases and goes down with a bang.
I first thought it may have had a sticker on that corner when shipped.
I have cleaned it with various detergents plus alchohol wipes and the glass and wiper are spotless.
So, I filmed it the other day and booked into my Honda dealer.
The workshop manager looked at it and said he thought it was a faulty motor. He manually moved it up and down and showed me how "very" notchy it was when it was moving saying he didn't think the motor should be phisically notchy as it turned. The drivers side is perfect so I wonder if there is a part of the mechanism on the passenger wiper catching in some way We went to the demonstrator and tried that and it was OK.
He took a copy of one of my videos and said it will go off to Honda along with his notes and see if it is rearing it's head anywhere else.
Hopefully he will contact me next week.
I have had many problems with new Toyotas over 25 years - some major such as whole steering column replacement on new RAV4 but never a wiper motor.
It isn't a big problem and hopefully will be fixed.
He said he is expecting teething problems on the completely new car even though shared much with Civic.
I will let you know what he and honda say.
