First Prelude in Italy

The first Prelude in Italy (except demo cars) is in my garage!
Delivered ten days ago, VIN n. 120 in metallic grey coz i'm going to be 50...
I'll start by saying I've owned EG6s, EP3s, S2Ks, and CRZs. I went to the track, and I've sold sports cars and supercars.
I pre-ordered in May 2025 and was definitely the only one to get it at a great discount because I know what I'm doing.
I haven't had it touched outside since I'll be doing a nano-finish inside and out soon.
I'll also be installing spacers and removing the exhaust muffler.
I'm currently breaking it in a bit, so I won't talk about performance.
Pros: gorgeous lines that make everyone turn around, incredible road holding, negligible fuel consumption, very comfortable ride even on shitty roads, decent stereo but doesn't play HD music.
Cons: Numerous, the left mirror makes a lot of aerodynamic noise, poor overall soundproofing, extremely awkward trunk access, very few storage spaces, fully manual seats, minimal infotainment. It's a great car at the right price, but if you're a Lexus customer like me, the price drop is noticeable. If you're looking for a backseat kick, skip it. Ultimately, though, it's exactly what I expected.

one more note about the stereo, I had a mastering studio so I know what I am writing: flat eq is a crap, too much bass, too much highs, not so many mids... standard stoopid setup for standard stoopid music... anyway the bass responce is very good: you can ear 25hz but the juice is really good from 31hz... not bad.. not bad...

Compared to the Accord hybrid sedan I had been driving for the past decade, I actually think the soundproofing on the Prelude is decent! It obviously depends on what you are comparing it to. Why do you find the access to the back (not really a trunk with a hatchback/liftback) to be “extremely awkward”?!? Also, what “storage spaces” were you expecting in a coupe?

I originally was puzzled by your comment about the mirror noise, but then a couple of weeks ago, the weather here warmed up enough for me to drive with the window down for the first time and I now understand what you are talking about! I was able to minimize it by also opening the passenger side window a bit, but it seems like a design issue… that there might be too much space between the mirror and the outer shell.

I originally was puzzled by your comment about the mirror noise, but then a couple of weeks ago, the weather here warmed up enough for me to drive with the window down for the first time and I now understand what you are talking about! I was able to minimize it by also opening the passenger side window a bit, but it seems like a design issue… that there might be too much space between the mirror and the outer shell.

Might something like these be a potential solution for the wind noise, especially with that extended wing bridging closer to the body?

road noise is only assessed windows up (for obvious reasons). the mirror noise is hugely noticeable with all windows up. it creates a vortex by the driver glass that increases road noise with speed. very disappointing.
